Vivo has presented a reformulation of its advertising platform with major innovations such as the launch of its Vivo Ads Wall platform, a solution that changes access to portal contents by viewing an advertising video; its extension to the offline world on street screens, with the collaboration of Clear Channel; or the TV Sync solution, which integrates television ads which interact through the mobile devices.
LUCA: Big Data to alleviate poverty in Guatemala
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), set out by the United Nations for the year 2020, have ending poverty as their priority. A recent study carried out in Guatemala by a team of researchers from the World Bank that included members of LUCA, found that mobility data can be a valuable tool for predicting poverty levels based on location, which would facilitate the implementation of programs aimed at alleviating poverty.
Recipe to combat climate change: Big Data and Internet Things
According to a study conducted by the GSMA and the IDB, both Big Data and IoT could be two fundamental technologies in the fight against climate change. In addition, they are the basis for developing intelligent solutions that ensure sustainable economic growth. Thus, for example, LUCA has carried out a Big Data pilot to monitor the mobility of citizens, analyzing the impact on air quality and the effect this may have on their health, in order to make appropriate prevention decisions.

Telefónica presents the latest innovations in Burgos in cutting edge digital solutions
For three days, the exhibition InnovaTe2018 in Burgos displayed the most innovative technologies in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Virtual Reality and Accessible Television. A technological showcase in which LUCA, Telefónica’s data unit, showed the advantages offered by Big Data for everyday life, including how it can be used to improve performance of athletes and cyclists, thanks to a bicycle from the Team Movistar Team.
Companies promote sustainable transport initiatives during the European week of mobility
On the occasion of the European week of mobility, Telefónica has announced a plan to promote sustainable mobility in its 11,000 employees of the Telefónica District in Madrid. The initiatives have been designed through LUCA, and study the movements of employees, who can now learn all the details of transport use, multimodality: the bicycle, the car and the shared car.
