During the forum in Segovia organised by the OMT, the participants highlighted the role of tourism in curbing the depopulation of rural areas. Experts from LUCA analyse the state of Machine Learning in U-tad
In order to influence the need to develop responsible Machine Learning, four expert data scientists from LUCA will give this complete Master Class in interpreting the U-tad models. The experts will talk about the transparecncy of the models and how to interpret them, giving examples of models which are simply to interpret as well as models which are more difficult to interpret, and the dichotomy of the balance between performance and interpretability.
Alzheimer prevention project wins the DSA 2018
Pablo López has won the prize for the best Data Scientist at the 2018 Data Science Awards for his project that predicts Alzheimer’s at an early stage. The objective now is for the project to move into a second phase and become a reality in the medical environment. “The key is to confirm the differential characteristics that have been observed and thus leave an algorithmic basis to build on as more data is collected,” says López.
Big Data improves sports performance and expands horizons for new businesses
The UPF Barcelona School of Management organizes a conference on technology in sports. Pedro A. de Alarcón, Director of the BD4SG area and LUCA Sports Analytics will attend, and he indicates that “the performance of the athlete has been enriched with this method of analysing large databases.
