Telefónica awarded three projects for its Sustainable Innovation Initiative
Telefónica has awarded three projects in the IV edition of its Sustainable Innovation Initiative (IIS). The winning projects address the most urgent challenges for humanity according to the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations. The first winning project, Producing Right !, will be developed in Ecuador together with the BovControl startup, accelerated by Wayra Brasil, and the LUCA Big Data for Social Good team.

María Ángeles Callejo Rodríguez, Deputy Director of Digital Services and Commercial Analytics at Telefónica Movistar, shared with the attendees of the MMA Leadership Forum Mexico 2018, the new company offers that work to generate high visibility and interactivity to brands. The operator already has formats such as SMS (text messages) or MMS (multimedia messages) and reward programs that seek the optimal context to generate greater engagement between both parties.

Pelayo Covarrubias, president of the Digital Country Foundation, invited the Chilean country to assume the digitalization process, clarifying that “the digital transformation is not about technology, it is about strategy, leadership and new ways of thinking”.
The new trends in AI applied to communication
The Media-Tics portal has identified the main trends in Artificial Intelligence applied to the world of marketing and communication. Among them, the portal mentions Telefónica’s commitment to eSports. An example of this is the collaboration between LUCA and the Movistar Riders team, which focuses on two fundamental aspects: the strengthening of players’ physical and mental preparation as a key to performance and the construction of an analytical tool that provides unique insights on the players, the competitions and the rivals they face.
