Telefónica and China Unicom incorporate JD Digits on their ‘joint venture’ of ‘Big Data’

The chinese technology JD Digits has become a Smart Steps investor, the ‘joint venture’ created in 2015 by Telefónica and China Unicom to offer ‘Big Data’ services to corporate clients in China. “Counting on JD Digits as a business strategy will not only pose a great support from a business point of view, but also acts as a recognition of the potential of our Big Data technologies, which with our experience we offer to corporate clients all around the world through LUCA, our data unit”, stated Jacobo García-Palencia, Director of Strategic Alliances at Telefónica.

Movistar follows the runners of the Madrid Half Marathon

The telecommunications company gave in a presentation for the Movistar Half Marathon 2019, the functionalities of its official application for the live monitoring of the trial and of the ProFuturo Solidarity Race which will run in parralel, putting in the hands of the athletes an app to know in real time their performance and to receive encouraging messages from friends and families. Also, once the test has finished, LUCA will process the data of the participants which will allow each runner to see their own personalised performance statistics, so they can compare them with that of those in their category.
